After a deck replacement, our entire backyard was uneven dirt. We had no patios, walkways, grass or organized garden beds. With a small yard, our hope was to maximize useful space with bushes, new grass and stonework. Throughout the process, we met with a variety of professionals, including small and large scale landscape designers and yard care specialists.  When we met Jay, it was immediately clear he was the right person for us.

 He took time to explore our space, hear our vision and then share different options about what made the most sense from his professional perspective.  Jay was communicative, thoughtful, responsive and transparent every step of the way. We trusted him to make bush selections, transplant existing plants to more logical places and add different design elements as he worked on our project. 

The collaboration with Jay felt like a true partnership. He explained each step of the process and was flexible with any changes we wanted as well as sharing ideas that could make our space better. He was on top of his timelines and kept a very clean work area. When the project was completed, Jay returned to monitor and go over watering procedures for both the grass and new bushes.  In doing so, he quickly noticed three bushes that were unhealthy and replaced them the next day!  Every person that has come into our backyard is amazed at the transformation and we have already recommended Jay to many friends.  As we were talking about writing a testimonial for Jay, our 8 year old son said, “You better give him 5 stars!” We could not be more pleased with the work Jay did in our yard. We already have him lined up for another project in the spring and he will be the only call we make in the future.

Jay Leonard’s epic stonescaping skills turned an eyesore side yard into my beautifully terraced happy place. From start to finish, working with Jay was collaborative and his communication around timing and pricing was clear and professional.

In the spring of 2021 Jay transformed my dull, boring backyard into a masterpiece.  I had an area of lawn with a small hill that just needed some love. Jay was able to take all of my random ideas and see my vision and bring it to life. We now have a beautiful wall, stairs, walkway and plants and we couldn’t be happier. The other thing I love about Jay is that not only is he a true artist but he’s local and is just looking to put his own mark throughout the community. Up next I have to get him back to take care of the front of my house.
